What Makes OVHL Tick? The OVHL was formed in 1998 by a group of local skaters with three major goals in mind:

Create balanced teams

Teams are balanced by running a skater evaluation skate each season, rating each skater on a scale of 1 to 5, dividing up each skater skill level evenly between teams, and drafting skaters accordingly.

Skate as cheaply as possible

Because the OVHL is focused on hockey, run basically by volunteers, and sponsored by the BEST rink in the Northwest, OVHL skaters pay some of the lowest prices around. 

Have a locally run and operated league

OVHL is a skater's league. It is run for skaters by skaters. If OVHL is doing something, it was probably voted on by the skaters.
